zine - personal websites and the law

In July, I wrote an article to submit to a project, but didn't hear back. So I decided to publish it as a zine.

I write about common legal concerns that affect personal websites (Privacy Policy, Cookies, Copyright, Newsletters) and trying to give an overview that is laymen-friendly, not too in-depth, is simplifying some concepts for the sake of spreading awareness and giving some pointers for research. I can't give legal advice, as I am not a lawyer, just a student, and every website's situation is unique. I just know that there is often too much fear to even engage with possible legal obligations, and I wanted to take some of the insecurity and confusion out of it for people in the indie web.

You can find some deeper considerations as to why I wrote what I wrote here.

For ease of access, I've attached the full zine to this post and a text-version can be found here. Enjoy!
